Sonilo in ComfyUI: Generate AI Music for Video and Text Prompts

Sonilo now ships as a first-party Partner Node inside ComfyUI, so you can generate music from a text prompt or straight from your video footage without leaving the graph editor.
Quick answer
Sonilo is built directly into ComfyUI core as an official Partner Node — not a community package you have to clone or install. It adds two nodes, SoniloTextToMusic and SoniloVideoToMusic, that let you generate licensed background music from a written prompt or directly from a video clip, matched to an exact duration and, for video, timed to the footage's pacing, motion, and scene changes. Ready-made workflow templates (api_sonilo_t2m.json and api_sonilo_v2m.json) are available in ComfyUI's built-in template browser, so you can be generating music within minutes of adding your Sonilo API key.
| Node | What it does | Key inputs |
|---|---|---|
| SoniloTextToMusic | Generates music from a written text prompt, matched to a set duration | prompt, duration (seconds) |
| SoniloVideoToMusic | Generates music timed to a video's pacing, motion, and scene changes | video file or video URL, optional style prompt |
Setup steps
- Get a Sonilo API key at platform.sonilo.com.
- Open ComfyUI (or Comfy Cloud) and make sure you're on the latest version — Sonilo ships as part of ComfyUI core, so no separate install or git clone is needed.
- In the Workflow Library, browse Templates and search "Sonilo" to load the api_sonilo_t2m.json (text-to-music) or api_sonilo_v2m.json (video-to-music) template — or add the SoniloTextToMusic / SoniloVideoToMusic node manually from the node menu.
- Enter your Sonilo API key as the node's credentials.
- For SoniloVideoToMusic, connect a video source (file upload or public URL) and optionally add a style prompt. For SoniloTextToMusic, write a prompt describing the mood or genre and set the duration.
- Run the workflow (the Run button or Ctrl/Cmd+Enter). Generated audio is saved to ComfyUI/output/audio and can be wired directly into the rest of your graph.
FAQ
Do I need to install a custom node to use Sonilo in ComfyUI?
No. Sonilo ships as an official first-party Partner Node inside the Comfy-Org/ComfyUI core repository, so SoniloTextToMusic and SoniloVideoToMusic are available out of the box in current ComfyUI. There's no git clone, no manual custom-node install, and no third-party package to manage — just add the node or load a Sonilo template and enter your API key.
What does SoniloVideoToMusic need as input?
A video, provided either as a file upload or a public video URL, plus an optional text prompt to steer style and mood. Sonilo analyzes the video's pacing, motion, and scene changes to generate a soundtrack that's timed to the footage rather than looped in the background.
What does SoniloTextToMusic need as input?
A text prompt describing the music you want (genre, mood, instrumentation) and a duration. Sonilo generates a full track matched to that exact length, so it drops into a timeline without extra trimming.
Is the output licensed for commercial use?
Yes. Music generated through Sonilo's ComfyUI nodes is fully licensed via Shutterstock and commercial-safe, so it's ready to use in client work, ads, and branded content without separate music-licensing steps.
