Specs and limits

What the video to music tool takes and gives back

Input
  • Sonilo's video to music tool takes MP4, MOV and M4V files from 5 seconds to 30 minutes long and up to 3 GB, on every plan.
  • Sonilo writes one music track for a video up to 8 minutes long. For a longer video, Sonilo writes the music section by section, each section up to 8 minutes.
  • A prompt for Sonilo's video to music tool is optional and can run up to 2,000 characters.
Output
  • Each video to music generation gives two versions of the music, written to the length of the video or of the section you choose.
  • On a paid plan, Sonilo's video to music tool downloads the music as an M4A, a 48 kHz WAV or a 320 kbps MP3, or the finished video as an MP4. On Free, the music plays in full in the browser and does not download.
  • Video to music downloads cover the first 8 minutes of a video on Pro and the full 30 minutes on Premium.
Cost
  • Sonilo's video to music tool costs 18 credits per second of video, with a 15 second minimum (270 credits). Both versions come for that one price.
  • Sonilo charges 36 credits per second when it makes music and sound effects together for the same video.
  • The Free plan comes with 2,000 credits every 2 weeks, enough for up to 111 seconds of video to music.
Commercial use
  • Music from Sonilo's video to music tool can be used commercially on Pro and Premium. Pro covers ads, branded content, client deliverables, monetized channels and indie games, and Premium adds film, TV, broadcast and studio games.
  • Music made with Sonilo on the Free plan is for personal projects only.
Not built for
  • Videos over 30 minutes or 3 GB need to be trimmed or split before Sonilo can take them.
  • Sonilo sets up music for videos over 8 minutes section by section on a larger screen, not on a phone.

Commercial licensing

Licensed at the source. Cleared for commercial use.

Sonilo writes original music for your cut. The model behind it is trained exclusively on licensed catalogs, on every plan, so there is no scraped music in it and the artists get paid.

  • Licensed training data

The same model runs on every plan, trained only on licensed music catalogs. No scraped music and no gray areas.

  • Commercial rights from Pro

Ads, branded content, client deliverables, monetized channels and indie games. Premium adds film, TV, broadcast and studio games. Paid plans need no attribution.

  • A license certificate you can hand over

Every file generated on Pro or Premium can carry a license certificate with a verification code, so a client or platform can check the rights themselves.

Free and Creator are for personal projects only.

FAQ

AI video to music generator

How does an AI video to music generator work?+

Upload a video and, if you like, describe the mood or genre. Sonilo reads the length, pacing, and cuts of the edit and composes an original track for that runtime, instead of starting from a stock track you then trim to fit.

How do I add music to a video with AI?+

Upload the finished cut as an MP4 or MOV, add an optional direction, and generate. Each generation gives you two versions to compare against the picture; keep the one that fits and download it.

Can I generate music that matches video cuts?+

Yes. Sonilo is built for timing-aware video-to-music workflows where cuts, motion, reveals, and endings guide the music.

What video formats and lengths can I upload?+

Sonilo's video to music tool takes MP4, MOV and M4V files from 5 seconds to 30 minutes long and up to 3 GB, on every plan. Downloads cover the first 8 minutes of a video on Pro and the full 30 minutes on Premium.

What happens to my video's original audio?+

Sonilo keeps your video's original audio on its own Original track beside the new music, and you set how much of it you hear with the track's volume and Mute controls. The Original track starts silent, so the new music replaces the old sound, unless Sonilo hears speech and no music in the clip: then the original audio stays in as recorded. To keep the dialogue and narration from a clip that also has music, turn on Preserve speech before you generate, and Sonilo replaces only the rest of the original sound with the new music. The exported video follows the levels you set.

Is video-to-music different from text-to-music?+

Video-to-music uses the edit itself as context. Text-to-music starts from a prompt and duration without reading video timing.

Can I use the music in commercial videos?+

Yes, on Pro and Premium. Pro covers ads, branded content, client deliverables, monetized channels and indie games; Premium adds film, TV, broadcast and studio games. The model is trained only on licensed catalogs, and each track can carry a license certificate with a verification code. Free and Creator are for personal projects only.
