What you get from the acapella extractor

An acapella is the vocal of a song with no instruments under it. Official acapellas are rarely released, so producers and DJs extract them. Sonilo uses a neural network that rebuilds the voice as its own source rather than filtering frequencies, so the vocal keeps its body and the music drops away.

The vocal track holds the lead and the backing vocals together, with the reverb that was printed on them. The instrumental comes back as a second track, so you can check one against the other.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Is it free?+

Splitting and listening are free with a Sonilo account: up to 10 files a day, each up to 10 minutes long. Downloading the separated tracks needs any paid plan.

Which files can I upload?+

MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC and OGG audio, or MP4, MOV and M4V video. A video works the same way as a song: its sound is split and the two tracks come back as audio.

How clean is the separation?+

Sonilo separates with an AI model that runs on our own servers. Clear studio mixes separate best. Heavy reverb, stacked harmonies and live recordings can leave a faint trace of the other track, so listen to the tracks before you download.

Are backing vocals included?+

Yes. Lead and backing vocals come out together on the vocal track. Everything that is not a voice goes to the instrumental.

How long does it take?+

A few minutes for a typical song. Longer files take longer, and the page shows progress while it works. You can leave the page; the result waits in your Library.

Can I publish a song after removing the vocals?+

Separating a song does not change who owns it. The instrumental and the vocals are still the original recording, so use them only where you have the rights to. For original music made for your own videos, generate it with Sonilo.

Need music you can publish?

A separated song still belongs to its artist. Sonilo writes original music to fit your video, with a commercial license on Pro and above.
