How do I remove background noise from an audio file?+

Which audio formats and lengths does it take?+
Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC and OGG. Video: MP4, MOV and M4V. Files can run from 5 seconds up to 3 minutes on Free, 5 on Creator, 8 on Pro and 30 on Premium. Audio comes back as a 320 kbps MP3, video as an MP4.
Why does the voice sound thin or robotic after cleaning?+
At 100% strength every trace of the background is removed, and with very loud noise some of the voice can go with it. Lower Strength to 70 or 80% so a little of the original room returns; the preview changes while you drag. A cleaner source recording always helps more than a stronger setting.
Is my recording kept private?+
Your upload goes to private storage tied to your account, and only you can open the job in your Library. Preview and download links are signed and expire after a short time. Sonilo does not publish or share your file. Paid plans keep your jobs while you're subscribed; Free doesn't guarantee long term storage.
