How to choose music for your video

Royalty-free, copyright-free, no-copyright

Royalty-free means you pay no per-play or per-view fees for music you are licensed to use. “Copyright-free” and “no copyright music” usually mean the same thing in practice, but almost no modern music is actually free of copyright — including this library. What matters is the license: here, free for personal projects, and commercial use with Pro or Premium.

Pick by job, then by feel

Start with where the video is going — YouTube, a podcast, an ad, a wedding film — then narrow by mood. A calm track under a tutorial and a calm track under a wedding film want different instruments.

Keep it under the voice

Background music should sit 12–18 dB below speech. Sparse arrangements — solo piano, pads, a single guitar — stay out of the way of a voice better than busy ones at the same volume.

When the library runs out

If nothing here is the right length or feel, describe the track and generate it with Sonilo, or upload your video and let Sonilo score it to the cut. Custom tracks follow your plan’s license.

Royalty-free music FAQ

Is this music free to download?

Yes. Every track downloads free in MP3 and WAV for personal, non-commercial projects, with no account and no attribution. Commercial use — monetized videos, ads, client work, apps and websites — needs a Sonilo Pro or Premium plan.

What does royalty-free mean here?

You pay no per-play or per-view royalties for a track you are licensed to use. It does not mean copyright-free: the tracks are covered by the library license on this page.

Is this no-copyright music?

No — and very little music is. The tracks are copyrighted and licensed to you royalty-free: no fees per play or per view, free for personal projects, and commercial use with Pro or Premium. That license is what lets you use them safely.

Can I use this music in YouTube videos?

Yes. A personal, non-monetized channel is covered by the free license. A monetized channel — ads, sponsors, memberships — is commercial use and needs Pro or Premium.

Will I get a Content ID claim on YouTube?

Sonilo does not register library tracks with YouTube Content ID. A monetized channel still counts as commercial use and needs Pro or Premium.

Do I need to credit Sonilo?

No. None of the library tracks require attribution, on any plan.

Can I get a track at a different length or in a different style?

Yes — describe it and generate it with Sonilo’s text-to-music, or upload a video and let Sonilo score it. New accounts get free credits; custom tracks follow your plan’s license.

License

Every file in this library is free to download and use in personal, non-commercial projects — no attribution, no account, no royalties. Commercial use (monetized videos, ads, client work, apps and websites) and distributing the files need a Sonilo Pro or Premium plan. You may not resell or redistribute the files themselves as a stock library.
