Licensing FAQ
Can I distribute Sonilo music to Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming services?
Short answer
Releasing a track through a distributor is commercial use, so it requires audio generated on Pro, Premium, or Enterprise. Nothing in Sonilo's Terms prohibits it. In practice the limiting factor is the distributor and the store: most now require you to declare AI-generated content, some restrict fully AI-generated releases, and copyright registration for AI output is not available in every country. Sonilo is designed for music that sits under video; treat streaming release as possible but secondary.
What Sonilo's side looks like
- Generate on Pro or above. Free and Creator output cannot be sold or monetized, and a distributor release is both.
- Download the license certificate. Distributors increasingly ask for proof of rights for AI-assisted releases, and the certificate documents the licensed-catalog training provenance as well as your scope.
- Rights are non-exclusive. You cannot claim exclusivity over a generation, and another user could produce something similar. Do not register a Sonilo generation with Content ID or a similar fingerprint system on the basis that it is exclusively yours.
What the platforms look at
Distributors and stores set their own policies on AI-generated music, including disclosure, artist-name rules, and volume limits, and those policies change often. Check the current policy of your distributor before uploading. Where a store requires a human contribution, adding your own performance, vocals, or arrangement to the Sonilo track is usually what they mean.
Royalties
Sonilo takes no share of streaming or sync income. Whether a collecting society will register an AI-generated work depends on the society and your jurisdiction.

Make something you can publish
Commercial rights start on Pro at $14.99 per month. Every generation on Pro and above comes with a certificate your client or platform can verify.
