Licensing FAQ

Can I use Sonilo output in client work and paid ads?

Short answer

Yes, on Pro ($14.99/mo), Premium ($29.99/mo), or Enterprise. Client videos, agency deliverables, paid social, pre-roll, and TV spots are all commercial use under the Terms. The license belongs to the account that generated the audio, so the freelancer or agency generates on a commercial plan and delivers the file plus its license certificate to the client.

Who needs the paid plan

The person or team that generates the audio. Your client does not need a Sonilo account. If a client wants to generate music themselves, they need their own Pro or higher plan.

Handing over the rights

  1. Generate on Pro or above.
  2. In your library, open the track and choose Download commercial license. One request licenses every audio file from that generation, and each file gets its own certificate and serial — deliver the certificate that belongs to the file you are handing over.
  3. Deliver the audio and the certificate. The certificate names the work, the plan, the scope ("Commercial use, incl. advertising, client deliverables and monetized channels"), the territory (worldwide), exclusivity (non-exclusive), and the training-data provenance, and it can be checked at sonilo.com/verify-license.

Which paid tier

Pro and Premium carry the same commercial scope. Premium is the tier the pricing page recommends for client work because of the practical limits: 65,000 credits per month, videos up to 15 minutes and 3 GB, and unlimited simultaneous tasks, versus 30,000 credits, 8 minutes and 1.5 GB on Pro. Agencies with procurement or legal review should look at Enterprise, which adds custom terms and documentation support.

Exclusivity for a campaign

Standard plans are non-exclusive: another user could generate a similar track. If a campaign needs exclusivity or custom legal terms, that is an Enterprise conversation, not something a Pro or Premium plan can grant.

Indemnification

Like most generative-audio services, Sonilo's Terms do not include an indemnity from Sonilo to you; you are responsible for how you use the output (Section 16.3). If a client contract requires IP indemnification, raise it with sales before delivery.

Make something you can publish

Commercial rights start on Pro at $14.99 per month. Every generation on Pro and above comes with a certificate your client or platform can verify.
