Is Sonilo music safe to use commercially?

What makes it safe to publish

1. A commercial license on the plan. The plan is the license: no per-track fee, no royalty.
2. Ownership of the output. Section 6.1 of the Terms assigns you any rights Sonilo has in the output generated for your account. See who owns the music.
3. Licensed training data. The music model is trained on professionally licensed catalogs, including content authorized through Sonilo's Shutterstock partnership. See what Sonilo was trained on.
4. A record you can show. On Pro and Premium, the license certificate records the plan, scope, and training-data provenance, checkable at sonilo.com/verify-license.

Limits that apply to every AI music generator

Two limits come from how generative AI and copyright law work, not from Sonilo's plans, and the major services state them in their own terms. Suno's Terms of Service say output may not be unique across users and make no warranty that any copyright will vest in it. ElevenLabs' Terms of Service say two different parties may receive the same or similar output. The US Copyright Office concluded in Copyright and Artificial Intelligence, Part 2: Copyrightability (January 2025) that AI output is protected only where a human author determined sufficient expressive elements, and that prompts alone are not enough. • Exclusivity. Generation is non-exclusive, as it is on Suno and ElevenLabs; another user may receive similar output. If a project needs exclusivity, it calls for commissioned music rather than generated output.
• A registrable copyright everywhere. AI-generated output may not qualify for copyright protection in every jurisdiction, whichever service made it. That affects whether you can stop others from copying the track, not whether you can use it under your plan.
• Streaming release. No plan includes releasing a track through a distributor to Spotify, Apple Music, or other streaming services.
• Your inputs. You remain responsible for the rights to any video or audio you upload.

Which plans

• Free: Non-commercial. For trying Sonilo, not for publishing commercial work. A shared Free-plan download must be credited “Music by Sonilo” (Terms, Section 6.2).
• Creator (closed to new subscribers): Non-commercial. For trying Sonilo, not for publishing commercial work.
• Pro ($5.99 for the first month, then $14.99 per month): Commercial License. Ads, client work, monetized channels, apps, websites, and indie games. No attribution.
• Premium ($29.99 per month): Commercial + film & TV. Everything in Pro, plus film, TV, broadcast, and studio games.
• Enterprise (custom pricing): Commercial + custom terms. Adds custom terms, with procurement and legal support.
