Can I use the free Sonilo sound effects library commercially?
Short answer
Yes. Every file in Sonilo's royalty-free sound effects library is free to download and use in personal and commercial projects, such as monetized videos, ads including paid ad campaigns, client work, apps, and games, with no account, no credit, no royalties, and no revenue cap. A free download doesn't include a license certificate (Pro and above can get one). You may use the files inside your own projects, including products you sell, but not sell, share, or give them away on their own. The music library is different: its tracks are free for personal use, and commercial use of them needs Pro ($14.99 per month) or above.
Free for personal and commercial use
Download any file from the royalty-free sound effects library as MP3 or WAV, without an account, and use it in:
- Monetized videos, ads (including paid ad campaigns), sponsored posts, and client work
- Podcasts, apps, games, websites, and templates or other products you sell, where the audio is part of a larger work
- Personal projects
There is no revenue cap on library files, unlike the indie games limit on audio you generate on Pro.
YouTube Content ID
Sonilo does not register library sound effects or music tracks with YouTube Content ID, so a library file itself should not trigger a claim. If a claim appears anyway, dispute it and link the file's page as your license.
No credit needed
You don't need to credit Sonilo for library files, on any plan. The same goes for music library tracks.
What Pro and Premium add
- Downloads of music library tracks, for personal and commercial use
- Commercial use of the audio you generate on Sonilo, with a license certificate for each generation
A free library download comes with no license certificate. On Pro and above you can get one for any sound effect or music track in the library, from its download menu.
What no plan allows
Selling, sharing, or giving away the library files on their own, bundling them into sound, sample, or music packs, or uploading them to other stock or library sites.
Library files and generated sound effects
Sound effects you generate yourself with text-to-sound-effects or video-to-sound-effects follow the plan rules for generated audio instead. See whether sound effects have the same license as music.

- No account, Free, or Creator: personal and commercial use of sound effects library files, with no credit needed. Music library tracks to listen to.
- Pro ($14.99 per month) or Premium ($29.99 per month): the same, plus music library downloads for personal and commercial use and a license certificate for any sound effect or music track in the library.
